Classics Trip

September 26th marked the beginning of a rather large journey. 40 people, a mixture of students, teachers and parents, all began their journey to Italy and Greece. After at least 26 hours of flying we finally landed in Italy. Met with warm temperatures we travelled to Rome. Rome was full of ancient wonders that we were able to explore such as the Colosseum and even a Gladiator training experience. Plenty of pasta, pizza and gelato was consumed. After 3-4 days we ended up in Sorrento. From there we explored the city and many of its ancient museums. Along with a day trip to offshore island Capri, we concluded our time in Italy. After an overnight ferry ride we finally made our way to Greece. Greece was filled with more ancient wonders such as the Parthenon sitting atop its hill, and we explored the ancient city of Delphi. When it was said and done we took another 25-ish hours of flying and finally ended up back in little old Invercargill. Huge thank you to everyone who came on the trip and to those adults who were willing to tag along with us. This is a once in a lifetime trip and was a wonderful experience to be able to partake in.
