Into the Woods – Major Production

DIRECTOR AIMEE MARSHALL
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR CATHERINE FABRE
MUSICAL DIRECTOR EMMA JARMAN

Thank you to all the Hēmi Hākena whānau who attended performances of Into The Woods, presented to you by the senior campus ākonga. This timeless, yet relevant, piece of theatre is an enchanting and touching look into the nuanced lives of everyone’s favourite storybook characters.
We hope that the unrivalled talent of our performers wowed you and kept you on the edge of your seats. Our sincere thanks go to the performers who put their heart and soul into their characters and the rehearsal process.
Sondheim’s Into The Woods is the kind of musical that might terrify some musical directors, but it was no match for our talented and dedicated Mrs Emma Jarman. Her hard work in reworking the orchestra scores and working with our talented musicians was evident in all aspects of this show.
Our huge thanks and appreciation to our Director Extraordinaire Aimee Marshall. Her wisdom, skill, generosity of time and spirit, alongside a wonderful sense of humour made our show season full of joy and aroha. Ngā mihi nui Aimee, we appreciate you.
The theatre knowledge and confidence of Mrs Catherine Fabre was immensely beneficial throughout this show season. Her experience and reliability was an integral part of this dramatic and colourful creation.
A special thank you to Ms Bex Pilley and Mr David Pottinger for their time, effort and creative expertise. Milky White and other prop creations would not have been so fabulous and comical without their creative vision and experience.
Finally, this show and the supportive theatre community of JHC would not be possible without the volunteered support of the many staff members and students who dedicated their time to make our performers shine.
It was our pleasure to present Into The Woods to you and head “into the woods, then out of the woods, then home before dark”!
