We were delighted to take 30 students from the Senior Campus to this event a few weeks ago – we had so many students participating this year we needed a bus for transport which was awesome!
It was a beautiful sunny day in Te Anau, with no wind, which made the conditions perfect for all those competing. The undulating course with some steeper sections was very dry this year, with no mud, and all of the students enjoyed the firm underfoot conditions while also enjoying the beautiful scenery around the course.
Hargest was commended on how supportive our students were of each other throughout the day, and how positively they competed. Everyone ran really well and should feel proud of their efforts at this level. The team effort was reflected in several of the boy’s races where Hargest students were involved in intense sprint finishes over the last 100m after running for 4000m!
