Whānau Report

Kua ea te kaupapa o Te Matatini ki te Ao!! Hard work and patience culminated in three staff accompanying 23 students and our six parent supporters to Te Matatini (Kapa Haka World Championship) at Pukekura Park in Ngā Motu/New Plymouth. Highlights included Parliament House, The National Library (where we saw the original treaty documents, the declaration of independence (Te Whakaputanga)), Te Papa, Rātana Pā, the Dury Hill Elevator, and, the final day of Matatini. After all of that, a flat tire promoted an extended stay in Wellington as we missed our check in time. With a contingency fund in hand and some students who didn’t want the journey to end, we stayed at the Brentwood hotel and treated ourselves to a restaurant meal. A huge thank you to all of you who have supported us! We are looking forward to the next one.
