Fern Fever has one goal, to celebrate female sport!

Students will spend time playing modified and inclusive games of cricket, rugby and football. There will be prizes, music, photo opportunities, and local heroes down to inspire the next generation of sportswomen here in Invercargill! 

This entire month is dedicated to the beautiful game and the incredible girls and women who make it shine!  This is more than just a game; it’s an opportunity to connect, grow, make friends and be part of a supportive community. Let’s inspire the next generation superstars together!

Venue: ILT Football Turf, 199 Isslington Street

Age Group: Girls Only Year  7-8

Free of Cost!

Students are required to wear their James Hargest sports uniform and please ensure enough food and drink for the day.

We will require parent support to transport our students to and from the venue, if you are able to provide transportation please indicate on the attached permission slip.

ENTRY FEE:$40

Students cannot be placed in a team until the fee has been paid.  If this is not possible please contact the Office Manager  at execjunior@jameshargest.school.nz to arrange a payment plan.

If you are paying by cash please PAY AT THE SCHOOL OFFICE by placing it in an envelope marked with your child’s name, sport and student id.

Year 7 & 8 Summer Football  League 2024

The competition takes place on a Monday afternoon at the ILT Football Turf. Invercargill. 

Competition is 5 a-side. The cost for your child to play is $40 (This is based on 7 in a team)

Games will be played between 4-6pm,

The season will be kicking off on Monday 26 February

The draw will be posted on the Football South website, Junior Campus Sports Google Classroom and the Sports notice board.

Students will wear their James Hargest PE uniform while playing.

To ensure our students are suitably supervised, we require volunteers to help with team management (this is not coaching, you will be needed to help with substitutions and to get the team ready to start on time).  If you are able to assist with the management of a team, please indicate on the permission slip.  Insufficient volunteer helpers may affect the number of teams we can enter into this competition.

FOOTBALL 

Free opportunity for football training.  

Alex Sandiford, a year 11 student at the Senior Campus would like to offer free coaching at the Junior Campus for all students interested in playing football.

Our aim is to develop players skills in a positive environment to ensure they have fun and make new friends.

Our students will have opportunities to learn skills and to prepare players in the game of football. 

Students don’t have to play for school this is open to all students in year 7 & 8 

There is no cost involved with football training.
