FUTSAL

Futsal is the only FIFA and NZ Football approved version of five-aside football and the world’s fastest growing indoor sport. The name futsal is derived from the Portuguese words futebol (football) and sala (hall). Futsal is a small-sided – 5v5 – game played with a smaller (size 3 or 4) low bounce ball, on a basketball sized court without rebound walls or nets. It is a game which combines fun, creativity, speed, technique, teamwork and quick thinking. NZF Futsal has been designed to complement New Zealand Football’s existing programmes and promote and improve participation in football in New Zealand.

Competition Information:

FUTSAL – TERM 3, 2024

START DATE: Monday 5 August (No games on the September 2, 2024 sue to Winter Tournament week

FINISH DATE: Monday 16 September

VENUE: ILT Stadium

ENTRY FEE:$42

Students cannot be placed in a team until the fee has been paid. If this is not possible please contact the Office Manager at execjunior@jameshargest.school.nz to arrange a payment plan.

If you are paying by cash please PAY AT THE SCHOOL OFFICE by placing it in an envelope marked with your child’s name, sport and student id.

REGISTRATION CLOSE: Friday 19 July

Junior Futsal will run as a mixed competition for Year 7-8.

As the competition is 5 a-side, we recommend teams of 7.

Games will run for 26 minutes, 12 minutes each half and 2 minutes of half time. Once the full time whistle has gone, we ask that you leave your court as quickly as possible so that we may begin the next game.

Monday 9th September
Monday 16th of September

Please note there are no games played Monday 2 September, 2024 due to Winter Tournament Week.
